Alison Sudol joined the cast of the thriller “Dig”, the six-episode series will première on the USA Network later this year. She’s joining Anne Heche and Jason Isaacs. She plays Emma Wilson, an American intern working on a dig site in Jerusalem. You can read more below:

Alison Sudol is best known to indie music fans as singer-songwriter A Fine Frenzy, but in addition to being a renowned musician, she’s also an accomplished actress.

In fact, the 29-year-old performer has just joined the cast of the USA Network’s six-episode thriller, “Dig.” The series comes from acclaimed creators Gideon Raff (“Homeland”) and Tim Kring (“Heroes”).

Sudol will star alongside actors Anne Heche and Jason Isaacs. She plays Emma Wilson, an American intern working on a dig site in Jerusalem, where she befriends FBI detective Peter Connelly (Isaacs). Connelly finds himself embroiled in a race to track down a religious artifact that could trigger an event that would change the course of history, and in the process he ends up a suspect in a sensational murder.

Although most people know Sudol for her intimate, atmospheric indie pop, this is far from Sudol’s first foray into acting. Her recent credits include a recurring role on Amazon Studios television series “Transparent” and a part in the forthcoming feature film “Other People’s Children.” She’s also working on a new music project, due out in early 2015.

“Dig” is slated to premiere on the USA Network in late 2014.

Transparent

So, I have some exciting news…

There is this phenomenal director. Her name is Jill Soloway and she made a film called Afternoon Delight which you should see because it’s fantastic.

She wrote and directed a pilot for Amazon called “Transparent”. It stars the stunning Jeffrey Tambor, wonderful wonderful Jay Duplass (one-half of the Duplass brothers, if you haven’t seen “Jeff Who Lives at Home” you should), super smart-funny Gaby Hoffman (have you seen “Crystal Fairy”? So so good), Amy Landecker (“Dan in Real Life”! I have a song in it- great film!), Judith Light (“WHO’S THE BOSS”!!!!) and also….
